• 1.     Why you chose the place; I chose this place because I walk by it every day, so I feel a stronger connection to it than places I only visit sometimes. I also feel like the 4 flags encapsulate well the international nature of TRU, and also how it is rooted in Kamloops and T’kemlups culture. The grass and plants also made it easy to see how the place changed over the course of the semester.
  • 2.     What you have enjoyed about connecting with it; I enjoyed using the changing 2nd flag to make connections to that country, and dig in to how the chapter material related to that country. I also liked connecting the background of the landscape to the diversity between city and wilderness.
  • 3.     Which course theme/term idea you found easiest to connect to it and what that connection was; Probably the 1st one about globalization. I found it easiest to connect because the flags symbolize so well how TRU is a global community, with people coming from all over to learn.
  • 4.     One thing you are grateful to your place about; I am grateful that it really showed what TRU is about, and (for some chapters) showed me things I could try and relate to what we learned in class.
  • 5.     One reason that your place might feel grateful for you. It would feel grateful that I picked a place that no one else probabaly picked. It’s often overlooked, at the edge of campus, and usually walked by without much thought, but I took the time to study it.
